  1. Disaster Management meet held at Thane by Ganesh Naik.
    A disaster management meet was held in Thane in the presence of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. Addressing the meet, he said that there was a need to tackle flooding this monsoon.Thane city was also not spared from the 26/7 deluge. Huge loss of property and life was witnessed. Thane being situated near the coast, there are many lakes and creeks here.
    With the onset of monsoon the city needs to be completely prepared for any kind of disaster. A meet was held in this regard in which, Thane Guardian Ganesh Naik spoke on the preparations being done. Present along with the minister was Navi Mumbai Police commissioner Ramrao Wagh, TMC Commissioner Nandkumar Jantre, Asst Police Commissioner Tukaram Chauhan and other administrative heads.
    A presentation on Disaster Management was also held at the Collector’s Office. Equipments used during Disaster management was presented and inaugurated at the hands of Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik

    The approval of the general body meeting has opened the doors of Fortis – Hiranandani Hospital for the poor and weak to avail affordable super specialty medical services. Citizens from across the city welcomed the decision. Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had made the promise of making super specialty medical services available for the poor on January 26, 2006 during the official ceremony for the public private partnership – three years later, his younger son Sandeep Naik kept the promise made by his father to the citizens of Navi Mumbai.

  3. Navi Mumbai Civic committees push through projects worth Rs 120 crore in just two meetings
    However, Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik denied all the allegations and said, "All corporators are unanimously approving all civic tender proposals, because corporation election will be held next year, and all of them will be answerable to the public. Therefore, they are giving immediate approvals to civic tenders like condominium work and so on."
    Naik added, "The works under JNNURM has to be finished within time, otherwise Union government won't sanction funds for next phase of works. So, we are ensuring that all the approvals are sanctioned as soon as possible so that city is benefited maximum."
    When contacted, Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nahata stated, "Each condominium work proposal is treated as independent case and contractors applying for this work should have minimum experience of doing similarly work of worth Rs 3crore. In that case, he can apply for one or more tenders. Besides, the tender is being allotted considering the eligibility and lowest quotation put up by the contractors."Members of NMMC's standing committee are a busy lot these days

  4. With likely demolition, row house residents of Vashi meet NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik
    Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik addressing the residents stated that the civic body was following orders from the High Court. He advised the residents to approach the court for a stay order. He further expressed hope that with the raining season, demolition would be delayed by NMMC and hence, giving time to the residents to sought a solution to the problem.
    Local corporator Vittal More said that he represents the residents and as a corporator of the area he will take immediate action by forming a committee and approaching the best lawyer to handle the case. Also present for the meeting was MP Sanjeev Naik, NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik.
